Pan Head Self-Drilling Screw
Pan head self-drilling screws combine drilling, tapping and fastening in one step. No pre-drilling required for thin metal sheets. Rounded pan head provides large bearing surface. Carbon steel or stainless steel options. Ideal for light steel framing, roofing and metal cabinet assembly.
Pan head self-drilling screws, also known as drill screws, are one-piece fasteners integrating a drill point, threads and rounded pan head. They can drill, tap and fasten thin steel sheets in one single operation without pre-drilling pilot holes. The rounded pan head offers a larger bearing surface to distribute clamping pressure and avoid sinking into metal panels. Widely used for connecting metal sheets, steel purlins, light steel frames and electrical enclosures.

Key Features
- Pan Head Design: Round domed head with broad bearing area, prevents pull-through and provides neat appearance.
- Built-In Drill Point: Drills through thin steel automatically, saves labor and improves installation efficiency.
- #2 Phillips Recess: Good bit grip, low cam-out, works with electric screwdrivers and impact drivers.
- Continuous Thread: Forms mating threads in drilled metal hole for strong clamping force.
- Material: Hardened carbon steel as standard; stainless steel SS410 / SS304 optional.
- Surface Finish: Zinc plating (blue-white / yellow zinc), Ruspert coating available for enhanced anti-corrosion.
- Complete Size Range: Metric M3.5, M4.2, M4.8, M5.5, M6.3; different drill point types for varied metal thickness.
Applications
- Roofing, wall cladding, light steel structure and purlin fixing
- Assembly of electrical cabinets, equipment casings and metal brackets
- Fastening galvanized steel sheets, aluminum sheets and thin metal profiles Note: Select proper drill point type according to metal thickness; not for thick solid steel.
